Akriaia was a small village southeast of Sparta, located in the southeastern hills of Lakonia, Greece.
The village was home to the perioikoi, a group of Spartan 'subcitizens' who lived in the rural communities of Lakonia and Messenia. During the Peloponnesian War the village was visited by the Spartan misthios Kassandra.[1]
