"Scour the department of defense for functions that could be performed better and more cheaply through commercial outsourcing."

Donald Henry Rumsfeld (9 July 1932 - 29 June 2021) was an American politician and businessman. Rumsfeld served as the United States Secretary of Defense from 1975 to 1977 under Gerald Ford, in the same office again from 2001 to 2006 under George W. Bush, and as the Chairman of Gilead Sciences from 1997 to 2001.

Rumsfeld and the Bush administration were manipulated by the Templar company Abstergo Industries via the latter utilizing the administration's loose regulation of the private sector to gain more influence. As Secretary of Defense, Rumsfeld oversaw the genesis of the Iraq War, a Templar operation, and the War on Terror.
