Arno Dorian questioning Dominique Bûches
"I don't recognize that list of names either. But it's quite the coincidence that the first letters of those names spell the word 'providence'."
―Bûches on Jean-Paul Marat's list of Girondists, 1793.[src]

Dominique Bûches was a senior member of the Girondist party during the French Revolution.

After the assassination of Jean-Paul Marat, Arno Dorian visited Bûches at a shop on 20 rue des Cordeliers to question him about a list written by Marat that supposedly named several Girondists. Not recognizing any of the names, he noted that the first letters of each name spelled the word "providence".[1]
