The Devotee of Montu was a common shotel utilized by Egyptian warriors who pledged themselves to the ways of Montu, an Egyptian god of war.
Description
The Devotee of Montu was little different from a typical Iron Shotel, with a plain hilt and a small, rear protrusion at the base of the blade.
History
Aptly named for its service with elite Egyptian warriors, the Devotee of Montu symbolized these soldiers' dedication to the ideals of the god of war, Montu. For those calling themselves the sons of Montu, their ambition was to rise to the ranks of the Mighty Bulls, the greatest Egyptian generals, or at least die protecting Karnak's temple.[1]
