Desiderius Erasmus (October 28 1466 – July 12 1536, born in Rotterdam, the Netherlands) was a Dutch Renaissance humanist and a Catholic priest and theologian. Secretly, Erasmus the leader of the Northern European branch of the Assassin Brotherhood.[1] He is famous for the book Praise Of Folly which criticized the Catholic Church's corruption.
A group of Italian Assassins rescued him from being killed by Templars. He was targeted for his criticism of the Catholic Church, at the time under Rodrigo Borgia.[2][3]
