Desiderius Erasmus (October 28 1466 – July 12 1536, born in Rotterdam, the Netherlands) was a Dutch Renaissance humanist and a Catholic priest and theologian. He is famous for the book Praise Of Folly which criticized the Catholic Church's corruption.
