The Siege of Masyaf an event that took place after Altaïr returned from Solomon's Temple, where Robert De Sable planned to attack the Creed itself.
Defending the Village
After Altaïr arrived back from the temple confessing his failure, and Malik handing over the treasure, Malik revealed that Robert de Sable was on his way to the Masyaf. Several invaders were already inside the village, and Altaïr was ordered them to drive them out. As he left the fortress he meets up with Rauf, who requested him for aid. Rauf asked Altaïr to distract the Templars, while he would help his men back inside. Afterwards Altaïr ran down the hill back to the village and protected it as best as he could. Bodies were spread out, and the villagers were in commotion as the Templars were fighting the assassins. After defending the village, Altaïr returned back the fortress with the others.
No Fear!
Back in the fortress, Rauf told Altaïr to follow him to the top of the tower, where he waited on a platform, witnessing how Robert de Sable and his army had finally arrived at the fortress, forcing Al Mualim to surrender. Robert threatened he would let the village starve and killed a few of the hostages, to intimidate Al Mualim. However this didn't affect the master of the Assassins at all. Al Mualim shouted back that his men were with not afraid of Robert's threats. Robert provoked Al Mualim more asking to show evidence of this, and Altaïr and the other assassins delivered it to him by taking a leap of faith from the tower. Altaïr and Rauf were successful in their leaps and landed safely into the haystacks, however the third assassin had broken his leg. Rauf requested Altaïr to proceed without him. Over long logs of wood, Altaïr crawled his way over high above the cliffs that towered over the river. Once he reached the second tower, he climbed upwards, to get inside. There he cut down the rope, which held the large tree logs together. In circumstance they all fell down crashing upon Robert de Sable's army, driving it away.
