Arbaaz could not stop the Templars in their murder attempt, as Singh was already poisoned when he intervened. In the battle that ensued, Arbaaz faced Cotton and the Maharajah's guard, still convinced that he was the murderer. Pyara talked to her dying grandfather and tried to escape with the diamond, but was aught by Cotton. Raza also threw himself into the fight to protect her, and was overpowered just as well. Right before all seemed lost, the princess somehow triggered the powers of the Koh-I-Noor and became possessed by some First Civilization entity.
Scared to death, Cotton shot her and appeared to destroy the Koh-I-Noor, triggering an explosion in the process and dying along with his men.
