The Berdan rifle is a Russian weapon designed by American inventor Hiram Berdan in 1868. It was the standard issue for the Russian army at the end of the 19th century before it was replaced by the Mosin-Nagant. A few of them still remained in used, especially based on the Berdan II model, and were adapted to use the same 7.62mm cartridges than the Mosin-Nagant, which provided them with better equipment, accuracy and power.
