Agellos was an art merchant who lived on the Greek island of Naxos during the 5th century BCE.
Biography
In 429 BCE, Agellos met the misthios Kassandra, who caught sight of a graffiti critiquing and threatening the leader of the island, Phoenix. Investigating the scenes, Kassandra gathered bits and pieces from them and asked for Agellos' opinion on them, as an art merchant. With the clues he could give her, Kassandra was able to track down the artist responsible for the graffiti.[1]
