Daphne Alexander

Daphne Alexander is the voice actress of the hetaera Anthousa, a friend of Alkibiades who resided in KorinthGreece, during the 5th century BCE.

Daphne was born in Cyprus and trained at Oxford University and LAMDA. She came to prominence quickly, playing nurse Nadia Talianos on the BBC's long running medical drama 'Casualty'. After this she has worked internationally, including roles in Roman Polanski's 'The Ghost Writer', Osunsanmi's 'The Fourth Kind', HBO's 'House of Saddam' . More recently she played the lead role in the Iraqi independent film 'Mesocafé'. She also played the role of Stella in 'The Palace', inspired by the Turkish invasion of Cyprus. The film received Audience Award at Adelaide Film Festival, Best Short Film at Sydney Film Festival and Best Short Film at Melbourne Film Festival.

She has played Modesty Blaise for BBC Radio 4, and has worked onstage in London and Cyprus.

Daphne speaks fluent English, French and Greek and divides her time between London and Los Angeles.
