Circa 1851, the Crystal Palace secured to hold the Great Exhibition, which had many acts in its expo like the Aurora Equestrian Troupe. During the troupe's performances, one of its acrobats Pierrette Arnaud took the lead role in a production based on Lord Byron's poem "Mazeppa". However, during her act, she noticed a young woman, Ada Lovelace, being attacked by thugs and saved her, although ruining her performance.[1]
