A crab is decapod Crustacean of the infraorder Brachyura. They live in all the world's oceans, in fresh water, and on land, are generally covered with a thick exoskeleton and have a single pair of claws.
History
The crabs were a common sight on the shores of Greece in 5th century BCE, though they fled the moment anyone approached them, burying themselves in the fine sand.[1]
Later on, these crustaceans were immortalized as the constellation Cancer.[2]
