Chrysaor was a legendary sword sharing its name with the brother of the winged stallion Pegasos. In reference to this, the sword's crossguard was adorned by the figure of Pegasos.
The sword was obtained by the misthios Kassandra during the Peloponnesian War.[1]

- The name Chrysaor is derived from the Greek word χρῡσός (khrūsós), meaning 'golden'. The name is usually translated as 'he who has a golden sword'.
