I wanted to ask you something. Which is... what's your name?
This article title is conjecture. Although the article subject is canon, no official name for it has been given.
Chicago CCTV footage of the fixer shooting Olivier Garneau

This individual was a hitman based in Chicago.

Biography

On 30 May 2014, he was hired to take out Olivier Garneau, Chief Creative Officer (CCO) of Abstergo Entertainment and ally of the Templar Order. After attacking and destroying his vehicle on the freeway, the hitman shot Garneau as he tried to crawl away.[1] The hitman's actions, however, were covered-up by the company and kept deep under wraps.[2]

Legacy

In late 2017, CCTV footage of the assassination was obtained by Layla Hassan, which she kept in her personal files on other mysterious disappearances and deaths related to Abstergo Industries.[1]

Behind the scenes

The CCTV image of the man is an allusion to Aiden Pearce, the main protagonist of the first Watch Dogs game, as the two appear to be identical. In Watch Dogs, the player is assigned a target by the name of Olivier Garneau in the mission "Requiescat In Pace". They are instructed to "immobilize" his car and "knock [him] down" and will fail if they kill him although it is possible to execute him after the completion of the mission. Garneau's profile in both games almost match exactly, with him being the Chief Creative Officer (CCO) of Abstergo Entertainment in Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag and being the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in Watch Dogs, and he is described as being "targeted by the Brotherhood" and involved in "genetic memory manipulation". The image is dated to 30 May 2014, while Watch Dogs is set in 2013. However, Ubisoft Montreal's narrative director Darby McDevitt described this as a "little joke" in a post on X (Ex Twitter), Darby would later delete the post. Ubsoft as a company never commented on the matter, leaving only rumors and assumptions.
