A Cat in Egypt

The cat (Felis silvestris catus) is a domesticated species of felids. Cats are one of the most common kept pets around the world, alongside the dogs.

During the 1st century BCE, many cats were kept by Egyptians as pets, often running towards Bayek to greet him.[1]

Egyptians also revered cats in several ways, including the goddess Bastet, who was often shown with a cat head and who was the protector of cats.
