Carbon is actually a nonmetal, not a metal, while it's rare in the AC universe, it's actually one of the most common in the world in real-life, although I haven't changed that of course since we follow AC lore

If this is referring to actual carbon, then this article should be renamed to "carbon" and rewritten accurately while mentioning "carbon ingot" down the body. If it is actually an alloy misnamed "carbon", then it should also be rewritten to be clear on that. The rarity might be a gameplay mechanic or it might be rare in terms of Vikings finding a way to acquire it not because it's actually globally rare.

Carbon ingot

A carbon ingot is a type of nonmetal used in manufacturing armor and weapons.

During the 9th century, the Viking Eivor Varinsdottir collected carbon ingots in order to upgrade her gear with the help of the Raven Clan blacksmith Gunnar.[1]

Behind the scenes

Though carbon by itself cannot make an ingot, it is used in making carbon steel, with a concentration varying from 0.05% up to 3.8% by weight.[2]
