- "Trained in battle and raised in a world of war and violence, the Captain remains a distinguished and refined character, respecting the codes of honor. Unfortunately, those he challenges to a duel by Sword never get the chance to count to three"
- ―Ubisoft Description

The Captain (real name: Donato Mancini) is a multiplayer character in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, and his weapons consist of a rapier and a parrying dagger.
Donato was known as the greatest rider in all of Cesare Borgia's army, which was a title that Cesare envied. So, in order to claim the title for himself, Cesare ordered Fiora Cavazza to make Donato lose a race with him, through bribery or violence.
At first, he was offered an ornate suit of armor and many other gifts, but he refused to back down steadfastly, all the while preaching that the winner was the winner.
Despite their many attempts to engineer his defeat, he emerged victorious, which made Cesare furious, so he then ordered Donato to be beaten brutally.
Donato was also known as a man of honour, which was something that Fiora Cavazza respected.
Unique Moves
Slice and Dice (Low Profile, Front)
The Captain walks up to his target, unsheathing his rapier as he approaches them. He then uses his sword to slice the legs of his victim, before slashing them towards the cheek. To finish his target off, he takes a step backwards and crouches slightly in a fencing stance, before stabbing his rapier all the way through his target's heart and piercing it. While the Captain removes his rapier and spins it around to remove the blood, standing normally once more, his target's body collapses backwards as he conceals his sword by sheathing it away.
The Impaler (Low Profile, Back)
The Captain stalks up to his target from behind, before placing his left hand on their shoulder and pulling out his sword with his fencing hand. Using his rapier, he impales his victim on his sword from the back, where their heart would be. To make sure his target dies fully, he twists the blade, making his victim twitch, before pulling his sword out and letting their dead body fall to the floor.
Fatal Flourish (High Profile, Front)
The Captain runs up to his target, before pulling out his rapier and dealing death to his victim a quick series of slashes. He replaces his sword back into its sheath quickly, just in time to see his target's dead body spins to the floor.
The Deep Stab (High Profile, Back)
The Captain runs up to his target from behind and pushes them onto their knees, before holding them down and pulling out his rapier. He then shoves the blade of his weapon down into the crevice of his victim's neck, piercing internal organs along the way. Now sure of his target's death, the Captain pulls his rapier out and sheathes it, letting their dead body fall forward to the ground.
Straight to the Point (Bench Kill)
The Captain walks up to his seated target and draws his rapier from his sheath, before knocking their head back with the hilt as he slashes them across the torso. With his victim slightly dazed, the Captain takes a hold of their shoulder and forcefully stabs his sword upwards through their chest. Impaling his target half way to the blade's hilt, where the point of the blade can be seen visible out of their back, he violently withdraws his sword from their body and stores it back into its scabbard. From there, his target's head slumps forward before their dead body falls from the bench.
Swooping Steel (Aerial Kill)
The Captain leaps from above a rooftop and lands on his target, forcing them to the ground. He then removes his rapier from its scabbard and plunges it into his victim's neck, killing them instantly, before removing his blade and storing it away as he stands up.
