The Campagna district (English: Country district) was one of the four districts of Rome. This district is characterized by its farmlands and large settlements. During the early 1500s, the Campagna District, like the Centro and Antico district, fell into disrepair under the influence of the Borgia. Four Borgia Towers ruled over the Campagna District, each guarded by a Borgia Captain. By 1503, Ezio Auditore had burned down all of the Borgia Towers, as well as reopened most of the shops and reestablished the Mercenaries Guild and the Barracks in order to aid him in his war against the Borgia and their French allies.
The Campagna District is the home of famous Roman landmarks such as the Castra Praetoria and the Terme di Diocleziano, where the entrance to the Cloaca Maxima Romulus lair is located.
