A bull shark

Bull sharks (Carcharhinus leucas) are a group of shark species commonly found worldwide in warm, shallow waters along coasts and in the rivers.

During the early 18th century, the pirates Edward Kenway and Adéwalé would hunt bull sharks for their valuable bones and skin. The sharks could also be found roaming the underwater shipwreck sites, deterring the divers from recovering the sunken treasures.

Behavior

Unlike great white sharks, bull sharks tended to swim in fairly straightforward patterns, making them relatively easy to hit with harpoons. When retaliating against attackers, bull sharks adopted a more erratic approach, before going straight for the whaling boat.
