The leader of the gang revealed Bruno's true alliance. He had betrayed Machiavelli after the Borgia offered to pay him more money than Machiavelli ever had. However, Ezio and Machiavelli managed to escape the ambush and free Claudia. It is unknown what happened to Bruno after this.

Bruno was one of Machiavelli's spies during the liberation of Rome. After the death of Rodrigo Borgia and the imprisonment of his son Cesare, Machiavelli ordered all his spies to locate the Borgia diehards in the Roman countryside.

Bruno soon returned to Ezio and Machiavelli, telling them the Borgia diehards had taken Ezio's sister Claudia. Infuriated, Ezio and Machiavelli went to the house Bruno had mentioned and entered it, only to find themselves ambushed by the diehards, heavily outnumbered and with Claudia being held hostage.
