The Boupalos Shipyard

The Boupalos Shipyard was a shipyard in the northeastern part of Chios on the Greek island of the same name.

During the Peloponnesian War, the shipyard was visited by the Spartan misthios Kassandra, who met a lumber merchant named Thais and agreed to his request to eliminate the leader of the Petrified Islands.[1]

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • The name of the shipyard is a reference to Bupalus, son of Archermus, a sculptor of marble in Chios.
