Blaise Legros was an opportunistic "captain for hire" who lent his abilities to anyone who would pay for them. Obsessed with expanding his fortunes, he sailed the high seas knowing no master nor morals, and was seldom loyal to his charges, often sailing them to their destination while knowing that they would perish. He had no allegiances or allies in life, chartering any that could add to his wealth, and those that could not afford his services would often find themselves "lost at sea."[1]
In 2012, his genetic memories were used as an Animi Avatar by the Templar company Abstergo Industries, for the training of their Animus recruits, under the title of the Privateer.[2]
Trivia
- His Animi Avatar counterpart's title of "Privateer" is misleading, as it implies that he was under the sanction of a government. While Legros may have acted as a privateer on occasion, he was, essentially, a pirate.
- Blaise is a French name, the origins of which lie in the Latin word blaesus, "lisping." Legros is from French le gros, "the large."
