The Catherine Palace is a palace in Tsarskoye Selo (now Pushkin), located 30 kilometers south of Saint Petersburg, Russia. It was the summer residence of the Russian tsars from its construction by Peter I until the Russian Revolution.[1] During World War II, the invading Nazi soldiers looted the palace, dismantling the Amber Room within and shipping its amber panels off to Königsberg, Prussia,[2] after the siege of Saint Petersburg impacted Pushkin.[3]
