I would maybe like to see some more information on how Connor handles mentoring the new wave of American Assassins. So far we know only of Patience Gibbs and Eseosa contacting Connor for training, aside from his previous recruits.

I will say however that his bland personality has affected people's view of him in a negative light quite greatly. The hero of a story is meant to be relatable, even if they're not a super charismatic person. The way Connor approached many problems was with an eternal grump-face, so you don't feel much accomplishment for what he does because it seems like he doesn't care for doing it in the first place, like a grumpy teenager.

You don't feel the true weight of his loss because he doesn't have any sensitivity. He witnesses his mother's death, but every moment since is "fuck the world", and he doesn't care to investigate why his villiage was burned, projecting his hate onto the Templars, and even when he discovers they're not to blame, he doesn't give a proper reason why he believes they must not succeed, it's just "they have to die."
