Athenian Vambraces

The Athenian Vambraces were light vambraces that were worn by the Athenians in the 5th century BCE. Though usually reserved for Athens' most accomplished heroes, these were in relatively common circulation during the Peloponnesian War.

During the Peloponnesian War, the Spartan misthios Kassandra found this piece of armor in the inventories of blacksmiths and looted it from bodies and chests during her travels throughout Ancient Greece.[1]
