Athenian Pteruges

The Athenian Pteruges was a type of pteruges notably worn by phalanx troops of the Athenian military, allowing them to be quick and nimble while fighting on front lines in battles and conflicts.

During the Peloponnesian War, the misthios Kassandra could purchase the pteruges from blacksmiths or loot it from chests and bodies across Greece.[1]
