Athenian Breastplate

The Athenian Breastplate was a breastplate commonly worn by the Athenian troops in classical Greece. Light, yet sturdy, this was favored for a reason.

During the Peloponnesian War, the Spartan misthios Kassandra found this piece of armor in the inventories of blacksmiths and looted it from bodies and chests during her travels throughout Greece.[1]

Behind the scenes

The Athenian Breastplate, a piece of armor in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, is based on archaic period hoplite breastplates.[2] It shares its model with the Minotaur Torso, another piece of armor in the same game.
