Asvid was a Jotnar scientist with a Enchated Tower facility near Útgarðar. He was experimenting with methods to stimulate organic growth. For this purpose he stole some of Ymir's Blood, but later had to flee. He made a breakthrough while in hiding but was unable to disseminate his findings.

Behind the scenes

Ásviðr, meaning All-Wise, is a Jotunn mentioned only once in Norse mythology in the Hávamál and is credited as creating runes for the giants.
