I don't remember this being proposed before, but I'm in support of this. There's not much sense in enforcing a policy of having all media titles in italics but glance over article names. -- {{User:Master Sima Yi/sig}} 21:04, April 27, 2015 (UTC) | I don't remember this being proposed before, but I'm in support of this. :So, do I have the go ahead to start adding this or should it be put to a vote or something? -- [[User:Zero-ELEC|Zero-ELEC]] ([[User talk:Zero-ELEC|talk]]) 20:54, April 29, 2015 (UTC) | |||
Revision as of 22:54, 29 April 2015
In various other wikis (including the Wikipedia and Wookieepedia) article names for pages that require italics (videogames, movies, novels, comics, boats, etc.) are depicted in italics in the title themselves. (Here's a pertinent example.)
Now, I wanted to ask if this wiki should follow suit?
Also, in case anyone is wondering this is possible in Wikia wikis by default by using the magic word DISPLAYTITLE. For example, if this were to be done on the Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China page, the page would have {{DISPLAYTITLE:''Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China''}} (or, more easily {{DISPLAYTITLE:''{{PAGENAME}}''}}) which would display the title of the page itself in italics.
Here's a little demonstration.
So what do y'all think? --Zero-ELEC (talk) 04:55, April 27, 2015 (UTC)
I think someone proposed this before a while ago, and if I recall correctly, the general consensus was that the difference was not really large enough for most people to really care - so the subject was dropped, I believe. As for me, I am wholly indifferent whether we do or do not implement this. Nesty Contact me! 09:13, April 27, 2015 (UTC)
- I believe it was me who made this proposal some time ago (if not, I was certainly a major supporter for making such a change). I would still support the change, if that is what the community decides. --Jasca Ducato (talk | contributions) 12:59, April 27, 2015 (UTC)
- Well, it would be fairly simple change to make, I would even be willing to go through all the articles that would need it and make the necessary additions. --Zero-ELEC (talk) 19:08, April 27, 2015 (UTC)
