Assassin's Creed is a non-canonical eight-page comic by Michael "Gabe" Krahulik and Jerry "Tycho Brahe" Holkins of Penny Arcade, a website focused on video games and video gaming culture. Originally published online on 1 August 2007,[2] it was included as promotional material in pre-ordered Limited Edition steelboxes of the game Assassin's Creed and follows its protagonist Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad on one of his missions in Acre.
It was reprinted on Ubisoft's official site behind an age gate[3] shortly after 12 October and remained up while the Assassin's Creed series expanded until it was removed sometime after February 2014,[4] though it can still be found on Penny Arcade.[2]
Plot
Altaïr enters Acre on a mission from his Mentor Al Mualim. Blending into a crowd of priests and civilians, he spots his target, a heavily-built man in a green cape. Altaïr climbs to the roofs to track his target from above, while the man remains wary of his surroundings yet unaware of what has changed. Altaïr follows the man to a merchant's stall of oranges, but his target notices the Assassin's presence. Once he is obscured by the stall awning, he dashes up a flight of stairs behind the shopkeeper.

The man suddenly appears behind Altaïr and insults his assailant, calling him "one of Al Mualim's pups". The two fight, but the green-cloaked man easily holds his own. The man starts ranting, saying that although Al Mualim started by removing Altaïr's finger, he would gradually remove his pupil's freedoms and kill him once his usefulness ended. Altaïr silently elbows him in the nose and attempts a leaping attack, but is countered with an uppercut that knocks him flat.
The man pulls Altaïr close and insinuates that Al Mualim fathered not only many of the Levantine Assassins, but also Altaïr himself. Altaïr, still quiet, headbutts the man, fatally stabs him in the gut with the Hidden Blade, and closes the man's eyes. The words of Altaïr's debriefing with Al Mualim overlay the final panels. Al Mualim asks if Altaïr's target had said anything unusual, but Altaïr responds that what he offered was "nothing of consequence", to which the Mentor replies that the target had always been "a teller of tales".
