For [[Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad]] to use interrogation, he needed to know his target, which was usually a public speaker that praised his current [[assassination targets|assassination target]]. As the target started walking away from the [[civilians|crowd]], the Assassin would follow him, and after a few minutes, when in a secluded area out of sight from the [[guards]], he started beating up his target. After a few punches, the target would go down, kneeling and giving Altaïr his information. Altaïr would then stab him and leave immediately.
In the year 2012, after the events following the [[Retrieval of the Apple|retrieval of the apple]], Desmond Miles fell into a coma after stabbing his fellow [[Assassins|Assassin]] [[Lucy Stillman]] under the influence of [[Juno]]. Upon being plugged into the Animus and[[File:Synch_Nexus.jpg|thumb|Subject 16 explaining about synch-nexus to Desmond.]] being sent to the [[Black Room]] by [[William Miles]], Desmond met the visual representation of Subject 16. Completing the memories of Ezio and Altaïr, Desmond achieved a synch nexus and was pulled into the "Nexus [[File:Nexus_of_time_1.jpg|thumb|left|Jupiter and Desmond in the "Nexus of Time".]]of Time". Once there, [[Jupiter]] elaborated on the location of the [[Grand Temple]] and the [[Toba catastrophe|First Disaster]]. He also charged Desmond with going to the Grand Temple.
