This wikia gives no info on how to get the truth or anything useful for the game

Two speculations:

1. Subject 16 is related to Adam and Eve, meaning that Desmond could view it as well, since they come from the same lineage "Altair.

2. Altair witnessed the video when he peered into the piece of eden at the end of codex entries. This means that Desmond could still view it.
