So I made a pretty bad mistake more than a year back when I renamed this page from "Captains" to "Captain" but in the process deleted the page then occupying the name "Captain", which was the Animi Avatar. A new user, Neadst just brought attention to this and recreated the "[[Captain (Animi Avatar)]]" page, but it now lacks the edit history of the original Captain (Animal Avatar) page.
I first tried restoring the deleted edits for the "Captain" page to recover the original content for the Animi Avatar page, but not having done this before, I didn't realize it would [https://assassinscreed.fandom.com/wiki/Captain?action=history merge] the deleted edits of the original "Captain" (Animi Avatar) page and the renamed "Captains" page. If you look at the [https://assassinscreed.fandom.com/wiki/Captain?action=history edit history] for this page now, you will find alternating edits of thousands of characters being added and removed now as the system treats the page as flipping the contents between both back and forth.
There are three solutions I can think of now.
The first is to keep this page as concerning captains in general and the new "Captain (Animi Avatar)" as concerning the multiplayer character, albeit without its old edit history.
The second, the most convoluted, is to rename this page to "Captain (Animi Avatar)", deleting the new page that currently occupies that name, and revise this page to be about the multiplayer character. This would restore this page to being about the multiplayer player while keeping its edit history. The redirect page "Captains" would then be renamed to "Captain" and keep the content about captains in general.
The last solution, which I prefer, is to simply delete "Captain (Animi Avatar)" or redirect it to this page, then change the content of this page to reflect the multiplayer character, effectively removing the existence of any page on captains in general. I don't think we actually need a page on captains in general.
Note that we also have this issue with [[Officer]] and [[Officer (Animi Avatar)]] pages currently. This is pretty much all my fault, so I do apologize for the inconvenience. This is the discussion page for Captain.
Here, you may discuss improving the article.

Where did you acquire the in-game picture?

Slight Issue Confused

This looks like the Officer unless we just thought that it was the Officer in those photos hmm

Auditor(e) 02:13, July 25, 2010 (UTC)

It can't be, The Officer uses a dagger and wears renaissance clothing. This guy wears armor and has a sword. :P

Thief talk 02:17, July 25, 2010 (UTC)

Yeah but people thought he was the guy that with the armor in one of the photos check the Female Harlequin page hes on the left people thought that was the officer Auditor(e) 02:18, July 25, 2010 (UTC)

Ah, oh well. Anyway, it's obvious which ones they are now. ;) Thief talk 02:35, July 25, 2010 (UTC)

Where i can find that picture??? User talk:Flubber

The soldier is a multiplayer character I can prove it. On YouTube type up Assassin's creed brotherhood harlequin trailer he kills the soldier and blacksmith.

Lack of content

Unless this article has some actual, relevant content added to it then it currently contributes nothing that Category:Captains doesn't. If nothing else can be added, I will consider marking the article for deletion. --Jasca Ducato (talk | contributions) 20:14, June 30, 2019 (UTC)

Delete proposal

So I made a pretty bad mistake more than a year back when I renamed this page from "Captains" to "Captain" but in the process deleted the page then occupying the name "Captain", which was the Animi Avatar. A new user, Neadst just brought attention to this and recreated the "Captain (Animi Avatar)" page, but it now lacks the edit history of the original Captain (Animal Avatar) page.

I first tried restoring the deleted edits for the "Captain" page to recover the original content for the Animi Avatar page, but not having done this before, I didn't realize it would merge the deleted edits of the original "Captain" (Animi Avatar) page and the renamed "Captains" page. If you look at the edit history for this page now, you will find alternating edits of thousands of characters being added and removed now as the system treats the page as flipping the contents between both back and forth.

Note that we also have this issue with Officer and Officer (Animi Avatar) pages currently. This is pretty much all my fault, so I do apologize for the inconvenience. Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 23:18, April 9, 2020 (UTC)
