This goes along with cases such as swords. Is there any reason that the page name should be pluralized? I know that we do this for groups of people, such as courtesans, concubines, thieves, doctors, and mercenaries, to conform with the fact that they are treated as collectives in the games (because for gameplay purposes they are). As well, the Assassins and Templars are most commonly referred to as such rather than by their official names (though on second thought a case might be made for moving those pages to their official names). However, these are for factions and groups of people. I don't see any reason why it should be the case with other items since it is far more professional to use the singular since that is the default without any modifiers. == Assassins' Guild vs. Assassins Guild == | |||
I see that there was a bit of edit warring in the past over whether the name should be "Assassins' Guild", "Assassin's Guild", or "Assassins Guild". The argument seems to have been that the last is actually the name given in game, perhaps the Brotherhood Contracts system? The counter-argument is that "Assassins Guild" is pretty much grammatically incorrect, and if it is the name given to a particular gameplay element, and if it functions as a gameplay term, then the case for "Assassins Guild" is not very strong especially given the grammatical error. Grammatically, the most correct should be "Assassin Guild". Guilds category
I added this to the Guilds category, but it was reverted. Doesn't this belong there? --Tobiasvl 11:21, February 23, 2012 (UTC)

Capitalization
Are we sure that Guilds should be capitalized, unlike bureau in Assassin bureau? Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 10:52, January 28, 2017 (UTC)
- Update: according to The Essential Guide, it is capitalized in reference to the specific system of Guilds, but it has also been lower-case... within the same paragraphs too. Even Ubisoft seems to be a bit inconsistent about it. I think when referring to guilds generally, I guess it should be lower-case, but when referring to the system or a specific "Guild of Assassins", it should be capitalized. Plural?
Assassins' Guild vs. Assassins Guild
Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 05:31, August 22, 2017 (UTC)
