Alfheim was one of the Nine Realms of Norse cosmology.

During the Middle Ages, Eivor Varinsdottir pursued Modron into the caves beneath Aelfwood, Gloucestershire to prevent the death of Tewdwr. Upon seeing the sacrificial chamber, Eivor wondered if she had stumbled into Alfheim itself.[1]
