Zhang Yong (1470 – 1532) was the leader of the Eight Tigers, a group of powerful Templar eunuchs that controlled the Chinese imperial court during the reign of the Ming dynasty Zhengde Emperor. He looked for a way to eradicate more prominent enemies and set-up what was to be known as the Great Rites Controversy, purging the Chinese Assassins after the ascendance of the Jiajing Emperor.
In 1526, after his fellow tiger, Yu Dayong, was tracked down by the Assassin Shao Jun, the former cursed her, telling Jun that Zhang would avenge him and eventually recover the Precursor box.
Zhang Yong planned to let the Mongolians and Altan Khan through the Great Wall in 1530, even though he knew the risk of barbarian invasion rather than to lose his grip of power. Shao Jun assassinated him, ending his dangerous plans.
