Zechariah (1st century BCE – 1st century BCE or AD) was the father of Saint John the Baptist, a major religious figure who baptized Jesus Christ.

After his death, he was supposedly buried in Venice, where a church dedicated to him was built in the 9th century. Alleged locations of his tomb include the Gandzasar Monastery in Nagorno Karabakh, Yad Avshalom, the Great Mosque of Aleppo and the Valley of Jehoshaphat.[1]
