Zechariah (1st century BCE – 1st century BCE or AD) was the father of Saint John the Baptist, a major religious figure who baptized Jesus Christ.
After he death, he was supposedly buried in Venice, where a church was later built in the 9th century and was dedicated to him. Alleged locations of his tomb included the Gandzasar Monastery in Nagorno Karabakh, Yad Avshalom, the Great Mosque of Aleppo and the Valley of Jehoshaphat.[1]
