"These terms are fair. Wolfrich! My war thane, you will go with Geadric, brother."
―Wolfrich offered by King Aelfred as an exchange to Sigurd, c. 874.[src]-[m]

Wolfrich was an Anglo-Saxon who served in the court of King Alfred of Wessex as a war thegn.

Circa 874, Wolfrich was present during King Alfred's meeting with Sigurd Styrbjornsson, Eivor Varinsdottir, and Basim Ibn Ishaq at the Cyne Belle Castle. As a proposal of peace, Sigurd offered his best warrior Basim to Alfred, to which Aelfred offered Wolfrich in exchange, instructing him to leave with Sigurd's ally, the thegn Geadric. However, this exchange was later altered due to Fulke's persuasion, leading to Sigurd being taken away instead.[1]
