William Miles

William "Bill" Miles was a member of the Assassin Order, who acted as a contact for the Assassin teams spread throughout the world. Based in the Assassin headquarters, he regularly kept the teams informed about the situation of the others.

Biography

Researching Cross

In 1998, he was contacted by Paul Bellamy to look into Daniel Cross' involvement with the Assassin Order. After having done some research, he discovered that Daniel' ancestor was the Assassin Nikolai Orelov, as well as found some records about Nikolai's mission to Tunguska. ^{[citation needed]}

Italy Assassin team

In 2012, William relayed information to the Assassin team in Italy through Shaun Hastings, and requested him to forward it to the other members. He also had a conversation with Lucy Stillman about the condition of Desmond Miles - who had been suffering from the Bleeding Effect - in which he said that they had to keep going, as they needed the location of the Apple of Eden.

Following the events in the Colosseum Vault, William and another, unidentified person found Desmond in shock and decided to return him to the Animus to prevent any further harm to the unconcious Assassin.

There, Desmond relived more of Ezio Auditore da Firenze's memories from 1506, though his condition steadily worsened. The unidentified man insisted on giving Desmond an injection to stabilize his heart rate, but William refused, saying that "the missing data may be there. The Piece of Eden is useless until we have it."

Gaining a location

Upon beginning to relive the restored memory sequence from 1506, Desmond received an e-mail from William telling him that the memory sequence he had found would lead them to some information that the Assassins required. Though Rebecca would be sending all the information directly to him, William also cautioned Desmond not to tell the other members of his team for the time being.

At the end of the memories, Leonardo da Vinci and Ezio Auditore found another Vault in Rome, located beneath the Pythagorean Temple. When Ezio's DNA activated a pedestal, the room projected a set of coordinates: 43 39 19 N 75 27 42 W.

Once the sequence was completed, William instructed the other man to sedate Desmond, though it was too late; Desmond had entered a coma. Despite this, William was confident that Desmond would recover, and he and the other man then left in order to investigate the coordinates.
