The Whydah was a British galley ship originally built as a slave ship, and functioned as a pirate vessel for several months in 1717.
In February 1717, Laurens Prins used the Whydah to transport a Piece of Eden, when it was attacked by pirates led by Samuel Bellamy, Olivier Levasseur and Alonzo Batilla. Batilla managed to cripple the vessel, and it was then taken by Bellamy as his flagship.
However, Bellamy, secretly a member of the Assassin Order, was chased by the Templars, who believed Bellamy still had the Piece of Eden in his possession. On 26 April 1717, the Templars destroyed the Whydah and killed its pirate crew.
