Pursuers are shown as a red triangle icon above the respective person's player, and will appear on the target's screen if engaged in chase. Pursuers don't appear unless they startle their target. If the target's detection meter fills up, then a chase sequence will be engaged. During, a chase meter will appear on the screen for the pursuer, or an escape meter for the target. For the pursuer if the meter empties completely then the contract will be lost. And if the escape meter empties, then a hide meter will appear. If this empties then it has the same effect as the chase meter. Tactics such as [[blending]], and hiding in hay stacks can be effective if used properly for both sides. Abilities such as disguises can be used with blending, though this wears off after a short period of time. Also elements known as chase breakers are present as well. These are usually gates, or doors that close behind a human player after running through them, but they re-open a short time afterwards.
A player must remember that Hunters are real people, just like they are; they will notice sudden movement, a group of random civilians turning into exact copies of yourself and a sprinting target. Also remember that they can be tricked, like people. This is why the Decoy ability works so well.

Once a Pursuer is close, the player can discover who they are by listening for Whispers. The Whispers begin when their hunter is nearby, and it gets louder as they get closer. During a chase, the 'Chase' meter will appear on the screen for the pursuer, or the 'Escape' meter for the target. For the pursuer, if the meter empties completely, then the contract will be lost and the target out of reach.

For the Hunter, any strategy that works for them is the best kind. Some people prefer guns to kill a fleeing target, some like to poison the sneaky ones that hide in crowds. Starting Information

Wanted is one of the online multiplayer modes in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. This is the most popular and played game online, and selecting 'Play Now' will almost always find you a Wanted game, ready to enter. Each game lasts for 10 minutes, with only one round. Every player selects a Multiplayer Character and a 'profile', which are separate sets of abilities and perks that can be set in the main menu.

A maximum of 8 players may play one game at a time, though the game can be played with a minimum of 6 players. If someone leaves the game during the match, another player may enter in their place. Once the match is over, the player will have an option to have a rematch with their same opponents. If unwilling to rematch, they must exit to the main menu at the end of the game, as the game will eventually take you to the rematch screen if you do not exit in time.

Targeting

At the start of the game each player is given a target to hunt and assassinate. The Character of the target appears in the upper-right corner of the screen along with a detection meter. To aid the player, a compass at the bottom of the screen points out the direction of their target and whether they are above or below the player. This appears as a blue disc which gradually fills up when closer to the target.

If the target is below, or above it will have an "up" or "down" message in the center. The contract can be lost if the target is killed by another person, the pursuer kills a civilian or the pursuer is stunned by their target. To further help the hunter find their prey, the blue light in the compass will glow brightly when the target is in sight. Wise hunters will use this to find the individual instead of attacking a person at random.

While hunting a particular person that the player is certain of being a target, a good idea is to lock on. If clicked rapidly, a running person will instantly be locked-onto, but a stealthy target should be targeted specifically by holding down the target button and releasing once they are in the cross-hairs.

Pursuers

A target's perspective of Wanted. Shown here the target is being pursued (top), then escaping (middle), and hiding (bottom).

Every player is assigned a Pursuer, or a hunter, in this game mode. Occasionally a person with less points will not be hunted by anyone, and this can be exploited by a wise player. Pursuers are shown as a red triangle icon above the respective person's player, and will appear on the target's screen if engaged in chase. The red marker may also appear if they are engaging in high-profile activities.

In Wanted, hunting and hiding are blended into a frenzy of action between the entire group of players, giving an opportunity to the players that surprise everyone else with their tactics.

Targets

During a game of Wanted, the 'Target' status will immediately include the player. This is a intimidating thing to realize, but it also gives the player an advantage. If they take the initiative and go on the offensive, any player can become 1st in the end.

If attempting to find the target, first try to follow the directions the compass display; it will have an arrow that points towards their direction, and the width of the blue light in the compass shows how far away they are. If the blue lights up brightly, then don't run or give yourself away, as it means that they are in sight. Once close to your target, refer to the picture of the character you are hunting.

As a target will often try to stun you or use an ability such as Smoke Bomb to escape once they've noticed you, the player should try to attack from a high position where a Smoke Bomb won't affect them. Be warned, Firecrackers work whether you're on the same level as them or not, and if your target is not locked on, they may stun you or escape while the player is blinded.

Advanced Wanted

This mode is the same as basic Wanted, aside from the fact that the compass to locate targets is reduced in effectiveness. The compass will no longer tell you whether the target is up or down, making it a far more difficult game mode to play.
