Upward Mobility is a memory in the Bonfire of the Vanities DLC pack for Assassin's Creed II.
Description
A Florentine nobleman under the control of a Piece of Eden used by Savonarola has taken over the market district. When Ezio Auditore approaches him he says, "People with power are not supposed to be questioned." The noble also warns Ezio about informing Savonarola of the Assassin's work. When Ezio begins to approach the noble, he begins fleeing to warn Savonarola of the Assassin.
Dialogue
Ezio looks up and sees the nobleman up on the rooftops.
- Nobleman: You must not disrupt our work! Firenze is sick! It's our duty to cure her.
- Ezio: How? By forcing her people to follow a madman?
- Nobleman: It is unwise for you to challenge those in power.
- Ezio: Yes. Well, that is about to change.
- Nobleman: No! You won't take me! Savonarola will know of your treachery. Guards! Guards!
The Nobleman flees and Ezio chases him.
- Nobleman: Savonarola is our saviour! Why must you resist this?! Things are better under him! Under us!
Ezio catches and assassinates the nobleman.
- Nobleman: I was a victim! It's not my fault!
- Ezio: No. You made a choice.
- Nobleman: He charmed me. With that... thing.
- Ezio: Only because you allowed it. Lo faccio per il popolo... (I do this for the people...) Requiescat in pace. (Rest in peace.)
Outcome
The nobleman is assassinated, he claims that Savonarola charmed him "with that thing." The Medici guards assume control of the district, and it is freed from the noble's oppression.
