Tyre was one of the cities the Assassin Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad visited during the Third Crusade period. It is notable for housing two of the Templars' major bases of operations: the Stronghold and Hospital.

In 1190, Altaïr visited the city three times - each time with differing motives. He first visited the city and infiltrated the Templar hospital in order to kill Roland Napule and take the second key to the Temple of the Sand. During his second visit, he attacked the heavily reinforced Templar Stronghold and nearly killed Basilisk.

The third time he traveled to the city, he tried to save Adha from the Templars, making his way towards the dock area. There, he finally killed Basilisk, but was unable to save the woman, who was taken by a ship to an unknown area.
