Tyre was one of the cities the Assassin Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad during the Third Crusade period. It is notable for housing two of the Templars' major bases of operations: the Stronghold and Hospital.

In 1190, Altaïr visited the city three times - each time with differing motives. He first visited the city and infiltrated the Templar hospital in order to kill Roland Napule and take the second key to the Temple of the Sand.
