Trade delegate: Difference between revisions
imported>Sol Pacificus "Trade Delegate" and "Perfume Trader" are not proper nouns nor are they real names. In English, character names are capitalized for the purposes of dialogue script in movies/video games. That doesn't make them actual names and grammatically they're not supposed to be treated as such. Just like how if we have an article on an "Anglo-Saxon Man" in a Valhalla memory, it wouldn't be correct to start referring him as "Anglo-Saxon Man" like it's the Anglo-Saxon man's actual name. |
imported>Sol Pacificus These categories are not correct. Although we can infer that he comes from the Tang, his "national" affiliation to it is unknown. In any case, a character added to "Tang people" should not also be added to the "Chinese" category, as "Chinese" is a parent category of "Tang people". The category for ethnicity is "Han Chinese". |

A trade delegate for a group of merchants in Baghdad enlisted the services of the Hidden Ones in the 860s when they came under repeated attacks by bandits.
Biography
In the 860s, the trade delegate contacted the Hidden Ones to help investigate the attacks against local merchants from bandits. Thus, he set a plan to catch the traitor with marked coins. In response, the trade delegate received the coins from the Hidden One Basim Ibn Ishaq.[1] From his findings, the delegate sent Basim to investigate a local perfume trader and inspect his quarters in the Oil Maker's District. After evidence was found,[2] the perfume trader became a target for assassination assigned by the trade delegate.[3]
After the perfume Trader's death, the trade delegate abducted by bandits, instructed by the perfume's trader brothers Alnilam and Alnitak for the murder of their brother. Caged at the Spymaster's Camp, the delegate was noticed missing by Abu Jafar Muhammad ibn Musa, whose notice sent Basim to investigate. Following a trail, the trade delegate was found and rescued by the Hidden One. Grateful, he mentioned that the true masterminds were still at large.[4] Personally contracting Basim, the trade delegate proposed a fake letter to be attached to a messenger to reveal the true masterminds.[5]
After Basim completed the task,[5] the delegate told Basim the meeting place and assigned him to assassinate the mastermind behind the merchants' attacks. Although it was the perfume trader's brothers, Basim completed the task and ultimately impressed the delegate's thoughts about him and the Hidden Ones.[6]
