Tityos is a Giant in the Greek mythology. He angered the gods, among them Zeus, and for this transgression was doomed to have his intestines eaten by vultures.
During the Peloponnesian War the misthios Kassandra visited a monumental statue of the giant, half buried within the Valley of the Snake in Phokis.[1]
