The Wounded Eagle is a memory in Assassin's Creed: Revelations.

Description

During a carriage race against Ezio Auditore, the Templar Captain Leandros calls his guards for help who manage to stop Ezio by using a bomb. His carriage is hurled from the street and he falls into a canyon. Seeing that Ezio survived the fall, Leandros orders his guards to kill him. Ezio manages to survive the battle and infiltrates the Templar stronghold where he finally kills Leandros.

Dialogue

Ezio thrown of into the canyon.

Leandros rushes through the canyon as Ezio gains speed. However, he manages to ram into Ezio's carriage and almost forces him off the cliff. Soon Leandros reaches his destination and notices a few of his guards.

  • Leandros: Stop him (to the guards)

One of the guards hurls a bomb at Ezio's carriage, it explodes sending him along with the carriage into the valley below.

Leandros approaches the guards.
  • Leandros: Do not take your eyes off this road for a moment. Do you understand me?
    Nothing gets through.
Ezio manages to climb back to the road. One of the guards notices this.
  • Guard: Leandros. (points at Ezio) There.
  • Leandros: Well, well. Look what crawled out of it's hole to die.
He turns around to his guards.
  • Leandros: He's at deaths door. Finish him off.
He instructs two of his guards to follow him.
  • Leandros: Bring me his head or throw yourselves into the canyon.

As he walks away, the remaining guards approach Ezio considering him as an easy target. Ezio prepares himself for a fight, despite his injury. Even with an arm wounded, the guards are no match to the assassin. He dispatches them and proceeds towards the village, Leandros had entered. As he approaches the village, he notices it is being guarded. He approaches the first guard near the waterwheel, and assassinates him from behind. He climbs over the spinning waterwheel to reach the top of the fortress wall.

Ezio tracking Leandors.
  • Ezio: This used to be so easy.

As he reaches the top, another guard of the fortresses wall, falls to his blade. Ezio uses his eagle sense to trace Leandros, he notices the way blocked by more guards. Ezio decides to create a trap to clear his way. He approaches one of the guards standing near a carriage and uses his hidden blade to kill him as soon as he wasn't in sight of the others. Carefully, Ezio sets up trip wire to his explosive.

The guards notice the body and approach the corpse. Unable to see the wire, they trigger the bomb and are killed in the explosion. With the way now clear, he follows the path Leandros had taken earlier. More guards stood guard in his path, unable and unwilling to fight he manages to distract them.

  • Guard 1: Smokes like these make me nervous!
    Keep your eyes open.
Leandros taunting Ezio.
  • Guard 2: Whoever did this...

Ezio manages to evade further attention from any guards on his way. He approaches the village's square and notices Leandros on one of the roofs.

  • Leandros: Could it be that you are every bit of deadly as the legends say? Or am I in charge of an army of drunks swinging sticks!!
Right this way Ezio. Nowhere left to run.
Ezio notices a few guards running towards him.
  • Ezio: Not for me and not for you.
With a strike of his sword he closes the gate behind him, blocking the guards outside.
  • Leandros: Kill that dog. Cut him down.

As the guards close in, Ezio uses another one of his bombs to dispatch them. As the pain of his injury reduces, he takes the quick way across the roofs to reach his target. More guards with firearms shoot at him, but Ezio manages to dodge them and starts to climb the tower where Leandros had taken refuge. Seeing Ezio approach, Leandros pushes on of his guards of the tower intending to slow Ezio down.

  • Leandros: Do your worst, malgasto.
He dodges the guard and climbs higher.

  • Ezio: Don't you ever stop howling?

With Leandros cornered, Ezio runs his hidden blade into his body.

  • Ezio: Requiescat in pace, bastardo. (Rest in peace, bastard.)
