The Illustrated London News was the world's first illustrated weekly news magazine founded in 1842 by Herbert Ingram in London, United Kingdom. In addition to publishing magazines, the company also published historical illustrations which could be found throughout London.

In 1868, the Assassins Jacob and Evie Frye collected the illustrations during their time in the city.
